YEAR 11
The parent-teacher consultation meeting for Year 11 takes place next Thursday, 10th February, from 5.30 pm onwards. Teachers will have evidence of performance in the mock exams, so this will be an important opportunity to review progress in the run-up to the GCSE exams. The year group photo was taken on Wednesday morning: thanks to all students for their good sense and co-operation.

CHARITIES WEEK
Charities Week begins on Monday week, 14th February. Mr Banfield is finalising the programme of events and must have notice of any proposals by the end of school today. Thanks to those who have already submitted ideas and suggestions: our aim is to make this the best Charities Week ever.

SCHOOL BUS
First Eastern Counties Bus Company has announced its intention to withdraw certain bus journeys from 27th February, one of which is the 901 bus which brings students to CNS from Old Catton to CNS. Parents of students who use this bus service will receive a letter next Tuesday which explains the bus company's position and sets out a new arrangement for fares on other existing services. The school has made it clear to the LEA and the bus company that it opposes the withdrawal of the 901 service. Parents should recognise, though, that the service has never operated under a contractual arrangement, so both the school and the LEA have no authority to demand its continuation. If parents wish to lodge objections, they should do so directly with the bus company.
CONCERT
Tickets will still be available for tonight's Year 11 Chamber concert which takes place in the Drama/Music area at 7.30 pm. There a number of talented musicians in Year 11 so the concert should be well worth attending.

CROSS COUNTRY
Sam Turner, Charlotte Fry, Debbie Brett, Rebecca Glen, Zoe Denton, Vicky Groves, Mark Naylor, Tim Minton and Daniel Beier represented Norwich Schools in the Norfolk Cross Country Championships. On the basis of their results as individuals, Sam, Debbie and Daniel have been selected to represent Norfolk in the East Anglian Championships.

'CABARET'
Rehearsals are in full flow for Mrs Wickham's senior school production of the musical show 'Cabaret' which will take place on 9th, 10th and 11th March. There is a very large cast and there is every reason to believe that the success of 'West Side Story' and 'The Threepenny Opera' in previous years will be sustained. Tickets will be on sale shortly: details of the times and points of sale will appear in a future Echo.

VOUCHERS
Tesco is re-introducing its 'Computers for Schools' scheme which operated last year and from which the school benefited in being able to buy items of equipment. There will be a collection box on the stage in the Hall, so please collect the vouchers if you shop at Tesco. And a reminder that we are still collecting used stamps for the Attleborough cub pack: again the collection box is on the stage.
