END OF TERM
Term ends a fortnight today, Friday 14th April, at 2.20 pm. Don't forget that Tuesday 2nd May is now a staff training day and part of the holiday for students. Lessons start on Wednesday 3rd May. Students taking GCSE and A level examinations should note that there is very little time in the Summer Term before exams are under way. Study leave for Year 11 begins after school on Friday 12th May and for Year 13 students on Friday 26th May.

YEAR 9
On Thursday 13th April at 7.30 pm in the Hall, there will be meetings for Year 9 students and their parents at which next year's Year 10 courses will be presented. Students will have letters to take home to parents, giving the time of the meeting which applies to them: there will be two sessions, but each session will be identical in its contact and format. Course booklets will be given out at the meetings. The parent-teacher consultation meeting for Year 9 will be on Thursday 4th May (only three school days after the presentation of courses) which will give parents the opportunity to seek advice on options.

CHARITIES WEEK
The amount raised gets bigger and bigger: over £6,600 has been banked. Could we possibly make £7,000? If you owe money, please pay it in to the Finance Office as quickly as possible. We'd like to reward the students who contributed most to the fund-raising in Charities Week- not from the money raised but through the goodwill of an anonymous donor. If you think you might qualify or you want to nominate a friend, see Mr Banfield as soon as possible.
'CHANGING ROOMS'
Last week's Echo said that there would be a 'paint-in' to decorate two form rooms on Saturday week, 8th April- but there's been a change of plan. All form groups will now be given information asking them whether they'd like their form room to be decorated. If the answer is 'yes', there will be letters from the School Association to take home to parents asking them to come in on an agreed Saturday to take part in the decorating. All paints and materials will be provided and the Association will be on hand to provide drinks and snacks. The form group can choose its colour scheme and we hope they will choose bold colours, particularly in the main school. The school's budget is very tight but the Association is keen that parents should be able to contribute in kind as well as in cash. Information will be with form groups by the end of next week.

OUT AND ABOUT
Last Tuesday, 28th March, eighteen Year 10 students took part in a performance to present Norfolk at the Millennium Dome in Greenwich. The project, involving three Norfolk schools, was co-ordinated by Mrs Baylay and has been featured in the local press.. and on the same day, a party of Year 10 students, led by Mr Roderick and Mr Burns, visited the Houses of Parliament in London… and, throughout this week, a party of Year 12 A level Geographers, led by Mr Stannard and Mr Finch, has been away on a field trip.

CYCLE SHEDS
Work is under way to make the cycle sheds safe again and should be completed before the start of next term. While we have no lockable sheds, please make sure that you have a very strong lock for your cycle - or, better still, walk to school if you live within a reasonable distance.
