END OF TERM
Term ends on Friday of next week, 14th April, at 2.20 pm. Periods 1-4 will be as timetabled normally, with a shortened period 5 after afternoon registration. The Summer Term begins for students on Wednesday 3rd May at 8.45 am. Tuesday 2nd May is a staff training day: the government has given all schools an additional training day, which can be taken when the school decides, to allow teachers to become familiar with new conditions of service and arrangements for performance management.

YEAR 9
On Thursday 13th April there will be meetings for Year 9 students and their parents at which next year's Year 10 courses will be presented. Parents should have received letters which give details of the meeting and the time which applies to them: there will be two sessions, but each session will be identical in its contact and format. Course booklets will be given out at the meetings.

The parent-teacher consultation meeting for Year 9 will be on Thursday 4th May which will give parents the opportunity to seek advice on options.

'SCHOOL WHEELS'
From next Monday, 10th April, the Evening News, in association with British Gas, will be publishing 'School Wheels' tokens each day for the following eight weeks. The first prize for the school, which collects the most tokens in proportion to the number of students on roll, is a new minibus; additionally, there are other prizes from which schools will benefit. Please collect the tokens and put them in the collecting box which will be on the stage in the Hall.
FOOTBALL
Congratulations to the Year 10 boys' football team who finished an excellent season with an appearance in the Norwich Schools Cup Final on Monday evening. Following a very competitive game against Hewett School, which ended as a 0-0 draw, CNS went down 4-5 on penalties. The team has played with great credit throughout the season and hopes to go one better next year!

BLACKDALE REUNION
On Thursday 11th May, Blackdale Middle School is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its foundation. The Blackdale governors are asking if any former pupil has photographs, brochures or any other memorabilia which can be used for display. If so, please contact Mrs Susan Rawlings on 01603 748344 or e.mail the school on staff@blackdalemiddle.norfolk.sch.uk
