END OF TERM
Term ends after school tomorrow, Friday 14th April, at 2.20 pm. Lessons 1-4 are as normal, and Lesson 5 is shortened to a half-hour. The Summer Term begins at 8.45 am on Wednesday 3rd May: Tuesday 2nd May is a staff training day.

YEAR 9
This evening, Thursday 13th April, at 7.30 pm in the Hall, there are meetings for Year 9 students and their parents at which next year's Year 10 courses will be presented. Students have taken home letters to parents, giving the time of the meeting which applies to them: there will be two sessions, but each session will be identical in its contact and format. Course booklets will be given out at the meetings.

The parent-teacher consultation meeting for Year 9 will be on the second day back of the Summer Term, Thursday 4th May and will give parents the opportunity to seek advice on options. Key Stage 3 tests in English, Mathematics and Science for all Year 9 students take place from Monday 8th May until Thursday 11th May. Letters giving details of the timing of the tests were issued to Year 9 students on Monday.

CYCLE SHEDS
The cycle sheds have now been made safe by a contractor and can be used immediately. The lockable sheds will be secured during the school day. Some students have claimed that the use of skateboards has become necessary while the cycle sheds were out of use: there is no place for skateboards at school under any circumstances.
LEAVING
Miss Barbara Lewis, Learning Support Assistant with the Special Educational Needs Department, is retiring at the end of this term. Miss Lewis started at CNS in September 1985, when the resource unit for visually impaired students was introduced into the school. Many students have benefited from the help which they have received from Miss Lewis and we wish her a very happy retirement.

EXAMINATIONS
The coming holiday is much later than usual and students in Years 11 and 13 should not under-estimate the short time which is available for teaching next term. Year 11 students begin their study leave after school on Friday 12th May, only eight school days after the beginning of term, and Year 13 on Friday 26th May.

The final lessons in any course are vital, as teachers give important advice and information to students. Revision should already be under way, with all students working to a pre-determined time plan. Students from Year 11 can access the GCSE Bitesize programs on the web, but should ensure that they are using the right sites. Make sure you know the details of the courses you are following: if you have any doubts, ask your teachers.

BETTER WEATHER
The good spell of dry, warm weather we have enjoyed recently means that many students have spent their lunchtimes on the school field. We have absolutely no objections to this, as fresh air is good for everybody. However, please do not leave your rubbish on the field: pick it up and put in a litter bin.
