YEAR 11
Today is the last day of lessons for Year 11: study leave begins after the weekend. Today is not a leaving date for Year 11: all students have exam commitments and most are returning to the Sixth Form. Next week there are oral exams in French and German for all students: students must keep strictly to the timetable and arrive at school in proper uniform. Yesterday instructions relating to the arrangements for the written GCSE exams and to rules and regulations relating to conduct and behaviour were given in the PEP period. We wish all Year 11 students success in the exams they are taking. If any problems arise during the exam period such as illness or transport difficulties, please telephone the school at the earliest opportunity.

YEAR 8
The parent-teacher consultation meeting for Year 8 takes place next Thursday, 18th May, from 5.30 pm onwards. Students in Year 8 should be arranging appointments with their teachers and must give the lists to their parents once they are complete. It is very important that the lists which include the names of the teachers and not just the subject. There is no formal beginning or end to the evening: parents will receive a list of teachers and where they are situated and make their own way from person to person.

SKATEBOARDS
A number of students are bringing skateboards to school, claiming that they are their mode of transport to and from CNS! While we think that there are some safety issues outside school, we are very clear about the situation inside the school grounds. Skateboards must not be used nor carried about and must be stored in a safe place between the start and end of school.
50/50 AUCTION
The 50/50 Auction, promoted by the School Association, takes place tomorrow, Saturday 13th May, in the Hall at 11.00 am. There is the opportunity to view the items which will be on sale from 9.30 am onwards. The items will be sorted at the school tonight from 5.30 pm onwards and there is still the opportunity to bring an item to the sale. Alternatively, ring Anne on 505636 this evening.

GOVERNORS' REPORT
The Governors' Annual Report to Parents was issued to all students yesterday to take home to parents. With the report is the agenda for the annual meeting which will take place on Thursday 25th May.

ART EXHIBITION
Year 11 students have completed their art work for examination and are currently arranging their work on display boards in the Hall. On the evening of Wednesday 24th May, parents and other visitors will have the opportunity of coming in to see the exhibition. Further details will be provided in next week's Echo.

BETTER WEATHER
We have enjoyed plenty of sunshine this week and students have been spending lunchtimes on the field. There are two problems, one actual, litter, and one potential, sunburn. Both are avoidable: please put your own cans and sandwich wrappers into a litter bin and don't expose bare arms and legs to the sun for more than a few minutes. Sunburn can lead to skin cancer.

Summer uniform requirements will begin after the half-term break. More details in next week's Echo.
