END OF TERM
School ends at 2.20 pm tomorrow, Thursday 20th July: normal lessons will continue until period 4, followed by the lunch break, a short form period and a final assembly in the Sports Hall. The Autumn Term begins for students on Tuesday 5th September at 8.45 am: Monday 4th September is a staff training day.

LEAVING
A number of staff are leaving at the end of this term. Dr Elkins, Mrs Pearce and Mrs Simpson are retiring and Miss Harris, Mr A. Fletcher, Mr Martin, Mrs Fenn, and Mrs Ramshaw will be taking up teaching posts in other schools. Mrs J. Shaw, lunchtime supervisor, will also be retiring after many years at CNS. We wish all those who are leaving, including those students who will be moving away from Norwich, every happiness and success in the future.

ACTIVITIES WEEK
Despite bad weather, Activities Week went extremely well, with students out and about at home and abroad. We are sorry that the Outward Bound trip to Wales was blighted by illness and thank the staff in charge very much for the extra care they had to put in throughout the week. All the activities, trips and visits need a great deal of organising, so thanks to all staff who provided such a varied and exciting programme for our students.

We hope you enjoyed the week, whether you went sailing at Filby, cycling on Marriott's Way, bird-watching at Cley, theatre visiting at Stratford, channel-hopping to France, sporting at CNS, walking in the Lake District or outward-bounding in Wales.
BELARUS VISITORS
In Activities Week, our visitors from Belarus enjoyed a week's holiday at Butlin's in Skegness, described by one of the children as 'the best place in England'. This week they have one or two trips and visits before spending the remainder of their stay with their host families and flying back home at the weekend. Their visit has been a wonderful success: thanks to the host families who have taken such good care of the children, to the organisations and individuals who have contributed their expertise and time, to the CNS team of Mr A. Fletcher, Miss Vivers, Miss Letondeur, Dr Knott and Mr Dickson who have organised the programme of activities and, above all, to Mr Banfield who was the inspiration behind Charities Week and who has done more than anybody to make a dream become reality. We wish all the children a happy and healthy future back home in Belarus.

MAGAZINE & ANTHOLOGY
The school magazine will be issued today to all students, free of charge. Thanks to Miss O'Brien and the editorial team for maintaining such a high standard of production.

Also available, price £3 from the school office, is 'Metamorphoses', the millennium anthology of poetry by CNS students from 1910-2000. This is a beautifully produced book and is terrific value for money.

.. AND FINALLY
Dr Elkins would like to thank all students, staff, parents and governors who have been involved in the school over the past twenty-two years. He leaves with very happy memories and wishes everybody a happy and successful future.
