JEFF RICH VISITS
Status Quo's Jeff Rich visits us next Tuesday to lead a masterclass with students from across the school. This is a great chance to see an international performer. A few places are still available on application to Mr Dickson.

YEAR 8
Parents of Year 8 students have been invited into school next Thursday evening 28th September to meet Form Tutors. The evening commences in the Hall. Letters issued last week indicate the time at which particular parents are expected. Mrs Smith and the Year 8 team look forward to welcoming you.

HUMANITIES FIELDWORK Y11
Students are presently involved in major fieldwork projects. Geography students are comparing different urban environments and History students are examining parts of the city such as Colegate. Both projects count significantly towards GCSE.

SCHOOL FUND
Many contributions have been received since the beginning of term. We are grateful to parents and students who have so generously contributed to the School Fund. Money raised will help to fund some of the additional equipment and resources that our basic budgets do not cover. Thank you!

SCHOOL ASSOCIATION
The first meeting of the Association's committee took place last Wednesday. A number of projects are being planned all of which will be of interest to students and parents alike. A venture to look into 'Safer Routes to School' will be explored in the near future.
AGM
The Association's Annual General Meeting will be held next Wednesday 27th September at 7.30pm in the Sixth Form Common Room. Please join us to find out about the School Association's achievements and about the significant ways in which it supports the life of CNS. Whether you would like to be involved on a regular basis or simply as an occasional helper or supporter at events your time and energy will be much valued.

GOVERNOR NOMINATIONS
Letters were distributed last Friday concerning the nomination of two Parent Governors. If you have not received a letter and would like one, please contact the school office. Completed nominations should be delivered to school to arrive no later than the end of school on Monday. If by then more than two nominations are received a ballot amongst all parents of students in the school will be necessary. Ballot papers will be distributed via the oldest child in each family next Friday 29 September for return by 2.30pm on 4th October.

INSTRUMENTAL LESSONS
Timetables for peripatetic instrumental lessons are now available for Years 9 to 13 on the school Intranet. Year 8 students will receive a copy in their registers. Instructions for accessing timetables are posted around the school. Bills for this term's lessons will be issued shortly.

A party of Year 8 and 9 students will be attending a concert next Wednesday afternoon 27th September at St Andrew's Hall given by this acclaimed orchestra as part of the Norfolk and Norwich Festival.
