STAFF TRAINING DAY & HALF-TERM
The last day of this half-term for students is next Thursday, 19 October. Next Friday, 20 October is a Staff Training Day. The October half-term holiday is the following week, Monday 23 to Friday 27 October. School re-commences on Monday 30 October at the usual time.

FLEA CIRCUS

On Tuesday 4 October students in Year 8 had the opportunity to watch a Flea Circus performed by the Garlic Theatre Company. The show was intriguing and students were able to discover many of the technical aspects associated with the tricky business of training fleas! Unfortunately, some of the performers escaped. If found, please return to the Drama department. Thank you.

GEOGRAPHERS AT SCOLT HEAD
Over the past two Fridays, Sixth Form Geography students have been undertaking fieldwork at Scolt Head Island. Investigation of coastal deposition processes and plant succession on sand dunes and salt marshes was the focus of activity. Sludging across the 'slob zone' was a new experience, generally enjoyed despite some hazards for the unwary.

LATE PHOTO ORDERS
Late orders for photographs can be accepted until next Thursday 17 October. There is no surcharge but processing will obviously be delayed. No orders can be accepted after that date.

BODY SHOP EVENING
The CNS Association evening on Tuesday this week was a great success. Over sixty parents and staff enjoyed a lively demonstration of the Body Shop product range. 10% of the proceeds from sales will be donated to CNSA funds.
ROAD SAFETY
There is still a concern about safety on Eaton Road at the end of school. Almost all students conduct themselves sensibly but the sheer numbers involved means that everyone - students and drivers alike - need to exercise extreme caution. Once students leave the school premises they should move right away from the school entrance in order to prevent congestion.

Y11 AWARDS EVENING
Last Thursday evening, students in last year's Year 11 were presented with special awards for academic and sporting achievement. For the first time, awards were made to students who had significantly exceeded their minimum GCSE target grades.

QUIZ NIGHT
Details of the CNSA 'Quiz and Chips' event on 25 November are printed overleaf.

YEAR 9 VISIT NORMANDY
A large group of Year 9 students accompanied by Mr John, Mrs Mills and Mr Uddin departs for History fieldwork in Normandy on Sunday 15 October. Students return on Thursday next week. The trip is organised jointly with Hethersett High School.

SIXTH FORM CHAMBER CONCERT
A concert featuring some of our Sixth Form A Level musical talent takes place at 7.30pm next Thursday evening in the Drama Area.
