NICK GREEN
Students and families will be aware that Nick Green, one of our Year 12 students, has been missing since last Thursday. An extensive campaign has been mounted by his family and friends throughout the past week to trace him. Leaflets have been distributed throughout the city and posters displayed widely. Our thoughts are with Nick's parents, his brother and sister and with his close friends at this difficult time. Sixth Form students are giving great support to each other as the search continues.

MOCK EXAMS
The mock exam fortnight for Years 11 and 13 commences on Monday 5 February. Normal timetable, except for Year 13 modular subjects, is suspended.

YEAR 11 GCSE ENTRIES
Subject teachers are currently making decisions about examination entries. Students should ensure that project and coursework tasks are complete so that examination entry is possible. We attempt to enter students for examination in all of the courses they have been following. We are confident that all students in Year 11 are able to achieve 5 GCSE passes as a bare minimum.

GOVERNORS' MEETING
The first full meeting of the Governing Body this term takes place on Tuesday 30 January at 7pm.

UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE
As Year 13 students begin to receive responses from Universities and Colleges listed in their UCAS forms, it is very pleasing to note that seven students have already been awarded conditional offers for colleges in Oxford and Cambridge. All credit to them, to their subject teachers and to their tutors.
CNS ASSOCIATION
Two successful events mounted by the School Association have taken place this week. On Saturday, Eaton Parish Hall was packed to the rafters with carloads of toys, kitchen equipment, clothes, books and second-hand gadgets of all kinds. The Jumble Sale raised a tremendous £420, for which many thanks to Ann Smith and her mum for their superb organisation.

David Gallant's horseback travels last year to Mongolia made for a fascinating illustrated talk. As a professional photographer, David shared some interesting perspectives on the country and the people he met. Over £100 was raised jointly for CNSA and Guide Dogs for the Blind. The next CNSA event is the 50:50 Auction on Saturday 10 March at 11am in the Hall. Items for sale are now required. Please call Anne 505636.

YEAR 12 PARENTS' EVENING
Next Thursday 1 February parents of Year 12 students are invited to meet their son or daughter's subject teachers. Students should make appointments at mutually convenient times.

SPECIALIST SCHOOL APPEAL
There has been an excellent response so far but we still have a long way to go. Please support this major project now : we will not have the opportunity to apply again in the future.

FAIRWAY HOLIDAY CLUB
Additional Playworkers are needed for this Club based at Fairway First School to work flexible hours during the school holidays. If you are over 16 and enjoy working with children aged between 6 and 11, Diane Whalen would be pleased to hear from you. The work is rewarding and not too onerous. Please email d.whalen@uea.ac.uk.
