HALF TERM HOLIDAY
The half term holiday begins after school next Friday, 25th May. School resumes at 8.45 am on Monday 4th June.

EXAMINATIONS
Written examinations at both A level and GCSE begin for Year 13 and Year 11 next week and continue after the half term break. Most exams take place in the Sports Hall, gym and some mobile classrooms and students in other year groups are asked to make sure that they are not noisy in the vicinity of any exam room. Best wishes to all Year 12 and 13 students for their coming examinations!

SUMMER CONCERT
A selection of music from Miles Davis to Vivaldi and featuring various CNS music groups and ensembles will be performed next Friday evening at 7.30pm. Entry is by programme, price £3.

HMI VISIT
Mrs Horn, a school Inspector from the Department for Education in London, visited CNS on Wednesday to assess our suitability for becoming a specialist school. All members of the school should be proud of the good impression we gave to Mrs Horn. We will know the outcome of her visit in June.

SCHOOL ASSOCIATION
The workshop on 'Living with Teenagers' was enthusiastically attended by over 30 parents. Many thanks to Lynne Rutherford of Youth and Community Services and Michael Mutter of M.A.P. for their input.

Raffle tickets for the School Fete on 23 June are now on sale. Please do all that you can to sell tickets. All proceeds help our school!
RM CENTRE of EXCELLENCE
We have been asked by RM (the main supplier of ICT equipment in education) to become one of five centres of excellence in Eastern England. We will be the only such centre in Norfolk. Congratulations and thanks to everyone whose hard work and imaginative use of ICT has made this possible.

GOVERNORS' AGM WITH PARENTS
The Governors' Annual Meeting with Parents takes place next Thursday, 24th May at 7.30 pm in the Sixth Form Common Room. Two small data errors in the Annual Report have been spotted : our apologies for these. The headings for the Year 9 results tables are missing and the 'contingency' in the 2000-1 budget was fully spent and should be added to 'equipment, books and expenses'. Corrected copies of the relevant pages will be available at the meeting or thereafter, from the school office.

UNIFORM
A letter will be sent home from Mr Baker, Mrs Collard and Mrs Smith reminding students and parents about our approach to uniform. Students in Years 8 to 10 who arrive without a particular item of uniform must report to their Head of Year at morning registration. Summer uniform rules will apply after the half term break, beginning on Monday 4th June. Full details of the requirements will be printed in next week's Echo.

NUFFIELD SCHOLARSHIP
Congratulations to Edward Knapp, one of 17 successful students out of over 50 applications, on achieving this distinction.

CYCLE THEFTS
Please be vigilant and make sure that your bicycle is insured. There were two thefts recently.
