This Week on the Field

City of Norwich School Weekly Newsletter
Friday 14th September 2001 - No. 17.02

The thoughts of students and staff at CNS are inevitably with the families and friends of the victims of the terrorist outrages in New York and Washington D.C.

PHOTOGRAPHS
All students were photographed last Thursday. Pictures of sports teams and some family groups were also taken. Copies will be available for purchase later this term.

BASELINE TESTS
Also last Thursday, students in Year 8 and Year 10 undertook some tests that will help to indicate each individual's potential in the public tests or examinations at the end of the Key Stage. Information on these 'minimum target levels' (for Year 8) or 'minimum target levels' (for Year 10) will be available to students later this term.

SCHOOL PHONES
Some much needed improvements are being carried out on our school phone system. More lines will soon be available into school which will avoid the long queues that have sometimes built up when existing lines are busy. For those with touchtone telephones, it will be possible to make direct contact with certain offices in the school.
Extension numbers of these will soon be published. In addition, there will be a dedicated line for reporting absences. This will much improve our monitoring of students' attendance. The number of the 'Absence Line' will also be published shortly. We apologise for the occasional technical problems that some callers are experiencing while the work is being undertaken.
