YEAR 8
Parents of Year 8 students have been invited into school next Thursday evening 27th September to meet Form Tutors. The evening commences in the Hall. Letters already sent last week indicate the time at which particular parents are expected. Mrs Taylor and the Year 8 team look forward to welcoming you.

HUMANITIES FIELDWORK
Y11 Students are presently involved in major fieldwork projects. Geography students are comparing different urban environments and History students are examining parts of the city such as Colegate. Both projects count significantly towards GCSE.

SCHOOL ASSOCIATION
The Pet Show - this evening at 6pm in The Barn - promises to be a successful and entertaining event with many unusual and exotic entries already received. Register at the event : £1 a pet.

NORWICH JAZZ BAND
At last Friday's Norfolk Headteachers' Conference at UEA, the Schools' Jazz Band received warm appreciation as it entertained the 450 County Heads over the lunch break. The band includes our very own Caroline Overy and Luke Hellebronth, both of Year II. Thank you!

UNIVERSITY NEWS
We have heard about the successes of several former students over the Summer, including the good news that Natalie Aldrich, Gethin Davison, Lottie Hammond and Paul Kett have all graduated with good honours degrees from the University of Leicester. Likewise, Christopher Goram has achieved a 2.1 in Theoretical Physics at Durham University.
GOVERNOR NOMINATIONS
Letters are being distributed today concerning the nomination of a Parent Governor. If you do not receive a letter and would like one, please contact the school office. Nomination forms are available from the school office and completed forms should be delivered to school to arrive no later than the end of school on Monday 1st October. If by then more than one nomination is received, a ballot amongst all parents of students in the school will be necessary. Ballot papers will be distributed via the oldest child in each family on Friday 5 October for return by 2.30pm on Wednesday 10 October.

BIOLOGY FIELD TRIP
A group of 37 Year 13 Biology students spent 3 days at Holt Hall last week, on a residential field studies trip. Woods, ponds, salt marshes and sand dunes were all studied. They worked hard. Some got a little wet and muddy too! Thank you to Ms Bushell and Mr Clennell for organising the trip.
