THE CANTERBURY TALES
There will be a rehearsal for everyone involved in the show from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 17 November. Please bring a packed lunch with you. Tickets for the show are available daily in the school hall - priced £3 each for Thursday 29, Friday 30 November and Saturday 1 December.

PARENT GOVERNOR ELECTIONS
Following the ballot of all parents, the results cast were : Mr Albutt - 37; Professor Higson - 31; Dr Poliakoff - 114. The notice of results posted in the Hall indicates that if no objections to the conduct of the election are received by 23 November, Dr Poliakoff will be deemed to have been elected as Parent Governor to serve for four years. Thank you to all candidates for putting themselves forward.

PARKING ON EATON ROAD
Could we remind parents that parking on yellow zig zag lines is a traffic offence. Parking on these lines at the front of school could result in a fixed penalty fine of £60 and 3 points on your driving licence.

CHARITIES WEEK APPROACHES
CNS's Annual Charities Week takes place in three weeks' time between 3 and 7 December. Preparations will soon be underway and each Form will have the opportunity to devise ingenious and imaginative ways of depriving others of their cash! Further details will be published next week, including the suggested charity that will benefit. Will CNS students be able to raise the same kind of amount as they have in previous years?

QUIZ AND CHIPS
A few places left. Ring 250840 to book.
INDUSTRIAL MENTORS
We are delighted that about twenty students in Years 10 and 11 will have the opportunity to meet with a local member of the business community. Industrial Mentors will meet with students on a regular basis and discuss such matters as progress in subjects, ideas about work experience and possible pathways beyond GCSE. The scheme, supported and monitored by Norfolk LEA, is now popular in many schools and offers those involved an insight into the world of work.

BCG CONSENT FORMS
Year 11 students are reminded that BCG consent forms must be returned to the main school office as soon as possible, please.

SCHOOL COUNCIL
On Tuesday 20 November the School Council meets at 2pm prompt. The new Council includes representatives of Year Councils and the Sixth Form committee but for the first time also includes students who have been directly elected by their own Year Group. Thomas Packer, Kat Ogilvie (Year 8), Darren Spauls and Polly Preston (Year 10) are amongst those who have been successfully elected following hustings in Assembly and a full Year Group vote. The Council will be involved in several important school issues this year as well as deciding how best to spend a budget of £500 that has been allocated to it.

WELCOME EVENINGS
This Thursday and next Tuesday 20 November, CNS welcomes students currently in Year 7 together with their parents. More than anything, conversation with those already here helps Middle School students to make their choice of High School. Thank you for the warm welcome.
