THE CANTERBURY
TALES 28, 29 November and 1 December. Warning - this show is "rather
rude and very lewd". Come and get your tickets from the hall at lunch time,
price £3.
CHARITIES WEEK This year's good cause is the
SOS Bus, set up in Norwich following the tragic deaths of a number of young
people, including that of CNS student Nick Green. The SOS Bus cares for young
people who are alone in the city at night and who may need help or support. The
suggestion that the SOS Bus should be the beneficiary of this year's
fund-raising came from members of the Sixth Form. Already, students are making
plans for individual and form fund-raisers and we hope that we will be as
successful as we have been in previous years.
OPEN EVENINGS
Thank you very much to students who have contributed so much to the recent
Open Evenings. Whether as Guides (Year 8 students supervised by Year 11 Student
Assistants), as demonstrators in lessons or as contributors to the
presentation, your input helped to give an excellent impression of our school.
MOBILE PHONES If a mobile phone is brought into school it
must be switched off at all times during lessons. Any instance of a mobile
phone being used in a lesson to make or receive calls will be treated as a
serious issue. As with all valuables, CNS cannot accept any responsibilities
for loss or damage to any mobile phone.
SCHOOL COUNCIL The
new Council met for the first time on Tuesday. Luke Hellebronth was elected as
the acting Chair of the Council. |
CNS AMNESTY
INTERNATIONAL The group invites you to sign greeting cards, which will
be sent to prisoners of conscience, spending the festive season in prison
because of their beliefs which they have expressed in non-violent ways. We will
be in the hall at lunchtime next Wednesday. CNS Amnesty Group meet at 12.45 on
Wednesdays in room 68. For more information about Amnesty's aims have a look at
our notice board by the library stairs.
WORLDWISE QUIZ SUCCESS
On Monday evening the school's Worldwise Quiz team again won the Norfolk
round of this national competition organised by the Geographical Association.
The team of Owen Reading, Barry Grimes and Steve Kuo now go on to represent
Norfolk in the East Anglia and East Midlands regional final. The local round
was sponsored by The John Jarrold Trust, The National Geographic Channel and
Kettle Foods.
CYCLE SECURITY Police advise that all cycles
be security marked, owners take the serial number and that cycles are insured.
We are working with local police to improve surveillance but, as with most
public premises, the school cannot be responsible for any personal property
brought on to school premises by either staff or students.
FIRE
EQUIPMENT Following isolated incidents involving fire equipment,
students are reminded that it is illegal to tamper with fire extinguishers.
CHRISTMAS TREE COLLECTION A 20' tree has been donated to the
school. Could anyone help by collecting it from Taverham? Please contact school
(on 274007) if you could. |
