YEAR 11 MOCKS
Congratulations to students who complete their Mock GCSE exams today.
Mocks have been approached in a thoroughly positive manner and this bodes well
for the final examinations in the Summer. Feedback on mock exams will be
provided by individual teachers and study for the final exams needs to follow
on directly from this. Revision material will be issued shortly after half
term. Several coursework deadlines are approaching and it is important that
these are observed.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT DAY Next Friday 8
February is a Staff Development Day and students will not be in school that
day.
HALF TERM HOLIDAY The half-term holiday follows on
directly from the Staff Development Day - 11 February until 15 February - and
school resumes at 8.30am on Monday 18 February.
CNSA FUNDRAISING
The School Association Committee is keen to develop its fundraising
activities, specifically by seeking further support from charitable
organisations. Any parent with fundraising experience or interest who would be
prepared to help with this is asked to contact Dr Poliakoff on Norwich 506242.
'THE BOYFRIEND' Tickets are on sale for performances on 28
February, 1 and 2 March. Please book early since seats are limited.
POPPY APPEAL Thanks to all those who contributed to this
year's Poppy Appeal. The school raised £50.65. |
FAREWELL TO TRAINEES
Four trainee teachers from UEA have been with us for the past few weeks
and we wish them well in their future careers.
NEW SCHOOL UNIFORM
The School Council has agreed that samples of a possible new uniform
should be shown to students in Years 8, 9 and 10 within the next few weeks. A
survey of student opinions will follow. Governors decided last Summer that
improved uniform arrangements should be introduced in September 2002 and their
hope is that the student survey will help them to make the best decision.
Whatever the outcome of the survey, it will be possible for students to
continue to wear existing uniform items during a transitional period.
ACADEMIC REVIEW DAY Letters have been sent out regarding the
Academic Review Day on 1 March. The day will give opportunity for each student
- preferably in the company of parents - to discuss overall progress with his
or her Tutor. Students attend school for their appointment but are not expected
to be in school otherwise that day. The exception to this is that some revision
activities will be provided for identified students in Year 11. Mrs Smith, Mrs
Collard and Mr Maddocks are co-ordinating arrangements for Key Stage 3, Key
Stage 4 and Sixth Form, respectively.
KEY STAGE 4 COURSES
Information about KS4 courses, commencing September 2002, will be
available for Year 9 students and their parents shortly after half term. An
information evening for parents is to be held at 7.30pm on 21 February and
further information about this will be distributed next week. |
