ACADEMIC REVIEW DAY
A reminder that Friday is Academic Review Day and all students attend school for an interview with their Tutor. Other lessons - except for some students in Year 11 - do not take place on Friday. The aim of the day is to help each student to identify his or her strengths and weaknesses and to work out ways in which improvement might be possible. Detailed queries about particular subjects can be discussed with subject teachers either at parents' evening or by appointment.

CRANEDALE VISIT
Year 12 Geographers visited Cranedale last week and, inspite of some trouble negotiating York Station, undertook some successful fieldwork in breezy conditions. Further details to follow.

WORLD WISE QUIZ
The regional finals take place in Cambridge this afternoon. Good luck to the team, most of whom were members of the highly successful 2001 team.

THE BOYFRIEND
The show 'goes up' this evening at 7.30pm. A cast of almost 40, a 36 strong orchestra and a backstage crew of 8 have all been working hard through recent weeks - each evening and at weekends - to bring a show full of humour and fun to the CNS stage. Some tickets are left for tonight and Friday. Saturday is already a sell out. Break a leg!

CNSA QUIZ AND CHIPS
The next Quiz evening is on Saturday 9 March at 7.30pm in the School Hall. Please book early to avoid disappointment. Previous events have proved popular and with fierce competition! Zoe Shippey (Norwich 250840) will take your reservations.
PARENTS' EVENINGS
Two parents' evenings are planned during the next few weeks. On Thursday next week, 7 March, Year 13 parents are invited to meet with their son or daughter's teachers to review progress. Nine school weeks remain until the final A2 examinations commence. Year 11 parents will be invited to meet with subject teachers on 21 March and letters about this will be sent home within the next fortnight. The Year 11 parents' evening gives an opportunity to discuss specific subject issues further to the discussion about progress in general at Friday's Academic Review Day.

KEY STAGE 4 COURSE
Last week, students in Year 9 and their parents received information about the course that students will follow from September as they embark upon Key Stage 4. Information booklets for those parents who were unable to attend the meeting last Thursday evening are available from Form Tutors.

BROADBAND CONNECTION
Contractors have been at CNS over the past few days installing various cables that will provide faster and more reliable access to the Internet. The improved connection will help to improve teaching as well as research.

FUTURE EVENTS
CNS will be participating in national activities during Science Week, between 11 March and 15 March. Assemblies and special events are planned. And in June, we will be mounting the first CNS Technology Festival - a week of exhibitions, activities and presentations. We hope to have some special guests to join us. Full details will be published in The Echo and on our Website.
