AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL
The CNS Amnesty International and Fair Trade Groups are committed to raising awareness about important issues about injustice across the world. On Tuesday, the groups set up a stall to raise money to support the work of Amnesty International UK. Raffle tickets and cakes were on sale and £50 was raised. This will assist Amnesty with the distribution of vital information about human rights violations. The CNS Amnesty group meets on Wednesdays at 12.45 in Room 68. The Fair Trade group meets at the same time on Tuesdays.

SECOND HAND UNIFORM SALE
CNSA is arranging a sale of second hand uniform at school on Saturday 20 April 2-4pm in the school hall. This will enable purchase of existing uniform items at very reasonable prices. In September, a modified uniform will be introduced but it will be permissible for students to wear the existing uniform - if correctly worn - until Summer 2003. Further details about the new uniform will be available shortly.

SCHOOL COUNCIL
At its meeting on Tuesday 19 March, the School Council discussed various issues including its proposal to Governors about the improved uniform, healthy eating and possibilities for a school radio station. Strong objections were expressed by members of the Council about students smoking in toilets. This anti-social practice was condemned and those involved urged to consider the needs of others.
EASTER HOLIDAY
Term ends on Friday at 2.45pm. We resume on Tuesday 9 April at 8.30am. Monday 8 April is a Staff Development Day. We wish all friends and families of CNS a Happy Easter holiday!

YEAR 9 REPORTS
Year 9 reports will be issued on Tuesday 9 April 2001. Students should take the report home for their parents so that issues that need to be discussed at the Parents' Evening on Thursday 11 April can be identified.

KEY STAGE 4 COURSES
Year 9 students should have collected an Options Form from their Tutors. These need to be completed and returned to Tutors by Monday 15 April at the latest.

SAFER & HEALTHIER JOURNEYS TO SCHOOL
Shortly, we will be assembling a school Travel Plan that will highlight the ways in which we encourage students to travel to and from school in a safe and healthy manner. There is good news about the new crossing that is to be built near our front entrance. We gather that work could be completed on this within the next year.

CNSA MURDER MYSTERY EVENING
This new event will take place on 20 April at 7.30pm. The event has already caused a good deal of interest. Please book your tickets with Zoe Shippey on 250840.
