ARTSMARK SILVER
We are delighted that CNS has been awarded Artsmark Silver. This is in recognition of the school's commitment to providing opportunities across all the arts from drama to music, design to literature, dance to sculpture. Well done to students for making the most of these opportunities and a big thank you to staff for all their hard work in achieving this award. A press release will be made today.

SUMMER CONCERT
An extensive and varied programme was enjoyed by a large audience last Friday evening in the Hall. The welcome appearance of the School Choir and Second Orchestra was complemented by 'Dance E-Jay', an innovative display of computer simulated music. Individual and group pieces by Year 13 leavers were very well received but the best was saved for last. The School Orchestra performed two difficult pieces with great success. 'Entry of the Gladiators' was performed with enthusiasm then Bach's Concerto for Two Violins gave scope for Greg Easter and Luke Hellebronth to show their real flair in, what was for both students, their farewell concert at CNS. Thank you to all musicians and to music teachers for a wonderful concert.

TECHNOLOGY FESTIVAL
This takes place at CNS between 19 and 25 June. A separate flyer is being distributed about this.

DANISH EXCHANGE
Welcome back to the Year 9 students who have recently been in Denmark. Thank you to our Danish hosts and to Ms Wind and Mr Burns, the organisers.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SCHOOL
We have received a letter from our local Police Inspector congratulating the school on the progress in improvement to security on the site. The positive relationship that has been developed with the police and the practical measures taken have helped to make students, staff and property more secure.
STUDENT'S TREK CHALLENGE
Mark Winteringham, VIGw, is to dedicate a walk 198 miles across the Lake District and Yorkshire Moors in memory of Nick Green hoping to raise more than £500 in sponsorship for the SOS bus. Mark is currently in training for the trek which will take place between 16 and 28 July. Anyone wishing to sponsor Mark can contact him on 07811 062407.

CNSA FETE
Plans are well underway for the Technology Festival Fete on 22 June 1pm to 4pm. The Fete will include a Grand Prize Draw. Two books of tickets are being sent home with each student to sell. We are very lucky to have as main prize (worth £400) full double membership of the Spirit Health Club. There are many other prizes including a Drift skateboard! A prize of £25 will be awarded to the student who sells the most tickets. Over half term, please look out any books, plants, bric-a-brac, bottles or toys that you could donate to the fete. We need plenty of bottles, particularly bottles of wine. If you could donate some please ring Margaret on 01508 493696. If you are able to help on the day, please ring Polly on 506242. Please display the poster overleaf in a window.
