TECHNOLOGY FESTIVAL
Between Wednesday 19 June and Tuesday 25 June a series of events is planned as part of our first Technology Festival. A permanent display in the Hall provided by partner companies including interactive activities will show how technology helps Norwich companies to achieve so much. Throughout the week there will be Techno-challenges for students at CNS and for our partner Middle Schools. Johnny Ball, E-J Dancing, Ken Farqhar’s Juggling Breakfast, Inspire’s ‘Know Your Food’ will all feature in a busy week. A full programme will be distributed separately.

BIKE2SCHOOL
As part of National Bike Week 2002 and our involvement in the Safer and Healthier Journeys to School initiative, more students and staff at CNS are being encouraged to cycle to school. On Wednesday 19 June, in particular, Norwich Cycling Campaign and local police officers will be assisting us in trying to make Eaton Road a safer place to cycle. Additional speed restrictions are being introduced on the day to draw to the attention of motorists the need for slower speeds in order to provide for pedestrians and cyclists’ safety. Motorists who create an additional hazard by parking near to the entrance of the school are again being urged to park further away to prevent unnecessary congestion.

We are delighted to have been invited to participate in Bike2School by Norwich Cycling Campaign, as part of events throughout Norwich. We believe that cycling in a safe manner and in a safe environment is a major means of assisting all of our students to be healthy.

NEW UNIFORM
A reminder that John Lewis will be selling the new fleece and polo shirt from 1pm onwards during the Fete and on Wednesday 26 June from 5.30pm.
TECHNO-FETE
As part of our Technology Festival, this year’s CNSA Fete takes on a technological flavour. This popular event takes place on Saturday 22 June from 1pm to 4pm in the school grounds. All students, families and friends of CNS are welcome to attend. Raffle tickets are on sale and a prize of £25 will go to the student who sells the greatest number of tickets. Sold and unsold tickets should be returned to Form Tutors.

MOUSEMAT CONTEST
Some spectacular designs were included in the mousemat contest sponsored by our partners LJ Technical. The winner was Jessica Fullwood-Thomas of 9Rd. Posters displaying the finalists’ work are mounted around school.

WORLD CUP FOOTBALL
Many students watched all or part of Wednesday’s match on the big screen at CNS. A very positive atmosphere pervaded the school and the great majority of students were present and prepared for normal lessons by 9.35. Any further alterations to normal routines as a result of the tournament will be communicated through The Echo or by separate letter.

MATHS PUZZLES
Congratulations to Thomas Tranquillo of 8Gr for winning the April Challenge. There is no monthly challenge in June, but watch out for the Technology Festival Family Maths Quiz, which will be available from next week. Thanks to the CNSA for supporting this - prizes to be awarded for the best efforts. Contact Jenny Orton at the school if you don't receive a copy.

NEW YEAR EIGHT
We welcome parents of students joining CNS in September to a meeting next Thursday evening 20 June at 7.30pm. On Wednesday 3 July new students themselves will be spending the day at CNS undertaking Induction activities.
