LYNX THEATRE VISIT
Year 8 students and older students taking Drama courses were treated to an outstanding production by the Lynx Theatre group on Friday 20 September. The play - 'Almost Human' by Robert Rigby - was performed by four actors and dealt with the issues of animal rights and vivisection. Students found the performance powerful and moving. It provoked much thinking and discussion and we are grateful to Mrs Baylay and Mrs Wickham for making the arrangements.

YEAR 8 TUTOR EVENING
We were pleased to be able to welcome to school on Thursday evening the parents of new Year 8 students. Parents met with tutors in a small group and then joined with other parents for refreshments in the dining room. Queries about school or progress that arise in the future should be passed to Form Tutors, if possible via the Planner. Form Tutors will involve other members of staff as necessary.

YEAR 8 CAMP
Please would parents ensure that letters and medical forms concerning the Year 8 Camp are returned as soon as possible? Unfortunately, if we do not have the appropriate forms we cannot permit a student to participate. Otherwise, we look forward to a successful venture. Any issues about the Camp to Mr Baker, please.

YEAR 9 VISIT TO LONDON MUSEUMS
A letter about this trip for all of Year 9 on 10 October has been despatched by Mrs Seddon. The trip promises to be both interesting and enjoyable. Please could we have replies as soon as possible and no later than 3 October?
SPORTS ROUND-UP
Congratulations to our Sports Captains David Gould 11Ly who has been selected for the Norfolk County U16 football squad and Beth Woollsey 9Ph who has earned a place in the Norfolk County U14 Netball Squad.

CNSA PET SHOW
The Pet Show last Friday attracted a variety of pets cats, guinea pigs, rats, several hamsters, birds and an iguana. Competition was fierce but Angel the beautiful, fluffy cat won the Best in Show Award with Ginger as Reserve. We are grateful to Sophia Limpens and Nurse Claire of Chapelfields Veterinary Practice for coming to judge the show. Side attractions included a display by the Norfolk Dog Training Society, exhibits by the local Herpetological Society and a visit by Mrs Highfield's Irish Wolfhound Alfie. Thank you to all who came along to make the event such fun and to members of the Committee for organising the event.

ICT FOR GCSE
Oxford University press has allowed us to install the full CD-rom version of this text book on our network. This enables access by all students and will encourage independent learning and use for homework tasks. This will benefit all Year 10 and 11 students in improving their standards of ICT.

FIRE DRILL
A practice evacuation was completed efficiently on Thursday morning. Such practices are vital in order that we do not face tragedy in the face of a real emergency. This was understood by all students.
