CNS AMNESTY GROUP - CAKE SALE
The group will meet in the main school hall on Friday lunchtime giving information about the campaign for tougher control over the sale of arms in the UK. Some businesses sell arms to other countries where they are used for torture and other human rights violations. Money raised from the cake sale will go to Amnesty International to support their work circulating information about human rights violations.

SOME MATHEMATICAL WINNERS
Congratulations to the Varley and Ellis families for their winning entries in the Technology College Family Maths Quiz - prizes on their way shortly. Close runners up were the Bells and our very own Thea Abbott! Also to Richard Crosby 8Wa for his solutions to the International Puzzles set in the Year 8 induction booklet. He wins a calculator. To get your child in training for the next challenge, send them to Maths Club on Wednesdays 2.45 to 3.45 in Room 18.

CIVIL ENGINEERING DAY
On Wednesday, 36 Year 9 students worked brilliantly on a Civil Engineering Project to bring aid to a hurricane-struck Honduras. Mid-Anglia SATRO and the Exchange organised the day which provided a mixture of logistical planning and practical work. Teams of six students spent the morning assimilating information about the extent of the damage caused by Hurricane Mitch and preparing the relief they would bring to the victims, and the afternoon constructing an emergency water supply system and shelters for the people who had been made homeless. The day ended with three practising engineers talking about their work in construction, telecommunications and road design. Team work, enterprise and innovation were demonstrated by all involved and the organisers were impressed by our students' efforts!

SPORTING ACHIEVEMENT
Congratulations to Ben and Sam Mann who played for the Norfolk U14 Cricket team during the Summer. This is a great achievement.
SPORTS ROUNDUP
Year 12/13 football team won 1:0 against Fakenham High School. Year 8 boys won 6:1 against Taverham and Year 9 Girls beat Archbishop Sancroft soccer team 6:3.

YEAR EIGHT CAMP
Many members of Year 8 have participated in our first ever Year 8 Camp. 8Wa and 8Ds return today. The staff at Bramley Lakes enjoyed looking after our students and complimented them on their determination. All involved took part with enthusiasm and many tackled new challenges for the first time. Well done, Year 8, we are proud of you! And a big thank you to the staff who accompanied the four camps, in particular to Mr Baker who masterminded the whole adventure. Look out for the photographs …. a few faces are just discernible through the mud!

GUIDANCE & TECHNOLOGY DAY
All students participated in a cross-curricular day on Thursday. The day gave opportunity for some of the learning that can easily be squeezed out of a busy timetable. A full report will appear next week. Students participated fully and gained a good deal from the activities. Thank you to our staff and various visitors for planning and organising the various events.
