CHARITIES WEEK
This week has been rather unusual! Each break time the Hall has
reverberated to the sound of jazz and to the bustle of competitions and the
sale of cakes, sweets and other delicacies. The Slave Auction on Monday raised
over £1000 in 40 minutes - a record. There were some odd-looking
contestants for Blind Date on Tuesday and some more glamorous ones for Man, Oh
Man! and Stars in their Eyes. Congratulations to everyone involved in raising
money for Cystic Fibrosis. Please be sure to pay in your sponsorship money to
the Finance Office as soon as possible. Let's make the total figure as high as
we possibly can.
SCHOOL REUNION
On Saturday 30th November the Class of '81 Reunion took
place in the school hall with a disco and karaoke laid on for all. More than 50
people attended as well as several staff. It was particularly enjoyable to see
Mr Eastman and Mr Harrison, both of whom are now retired. Several staff who
couldn't make it made donations to the event and sent their blessings. The
whole event went smoothly. There were presentations made to Tanya Aldis and Mr.
Burns. Andrew Thompson deserves a special mention for providing the enthusiasm
and drive to see the event take place. One of the Class of '81, Graeme Blyth,
travelled all the way from Canada to be at the event! It was agreed on the
night that any profits from the event were to be donated to a young child in
Norwich who is seriously ill and in need of expensive medical treatment. There
will be another chance for the group to get together in the New Year and begin
planning the 25th Anniversary!
THE MAMMOTH SAILS TONIGHT
Actually, last night. The much anticipated production had its first night
to an appreciative audience last night. A few tickets left for tonight and
Saturday.
CNS UNION ANNUAL DINNER The Annual Dinner for
former students of CNS takes place in the Hall on Friday evening. |
CNS YOUNG ENTERPRISE
COMPANY
The Young Enterprise Company, Junk attended the Business
Link, Business and Environment Conference at the John Innes Centre on Thursday
28 November, to market their product. A basketball theme collecting bin for
recycling paper, cans and printer cartridges is the current prototype.
Christopher Thirtle, Ben Whitmore and Darren Brooks represented Junk and
presented an attractive, well thought out display. They were accompanied by
their local business advisor.
