HAPPY 2003
We wish all CNS families a happy and successful new year.
Term started on Monday when we were pleased to welcome a number of new
students. We also welcome two new teachers - Miss Ward who joins us to teach
Music and Miss Leeds to teach PE.
PROGRESS REVIEW DAY
On Tuesday 14 January 2003, all students will attend a
Progress Review interview with their Tutors. Normal uniform should be worn and
Main School students should bring with them their Planners. Parents are invited
to attend the meeting that will last around ten minutes. Students only attend
school for their interview. No other lessons, unless specifically notified,
take place that day.
YEAR 11
On Wednesday evening Year 11 parents and students attended
a meeting concerning revision and preparation for the GCSE examinations. The
evening is planned to take place prior to the mock GCSE examinations which
commence on Monday 20 January. Students are on study leave throughout the
ensuing fortnight. Students or parents who would like copies of the materials
that were distributed on Wednesday are invited to contact Mrs Collard.
LOST PROPERTY
Named items of lost property are now returned to students
directly. Unnamed items are stored in the School Office from where they may be
re-claimed. All such items that have not been re-claimed - including uniform
items - will be available for sale between 2pm and 3.30pm on Friday 24 January
at school.
GARY PERUZZI
Gary's funeral was held on Monday 23 December and was
attended by several students and members of staff. We will remember Gary for
his determination and for his sense of humour. He set a good example for others
and he is greatly missed. |

TRAVELWISE
We have been awarded a Certificate of Achievement for our
involvement in the Walk to School week last June. Travelwise promotes safe and
healthy travel to work and school as well as the concept of 'living streets'.
PARENTS' SURVEY
As part of ongoing review of our work, we are keen to
sample in some detail the opinion of parents. We have commissioned Kirkland
Rowell Marketing to undertake the survey for us and questionnaires will be
distributed to a random sample of parents (via students) on Monday. If you
receive a questionnaire, please would you do your utmost to ensure that the
response is returned by the date indicated on the envelope? This is but one
aspect of our monitoring, evaluation and review of the school, the aim of all
of which is to provide the best education possible for students.
