LOCKERS
A reminder that students paying termly for their locker should by now have paid the £5 for this term. If the locker is no longer required the student should return the key to Mr Burns. Lost keys cost £2.50 to replace.

YEAR 8 DISCO
This is to be held on Monday 10 February, 7-9pm. Tickets are on sale from your Year Council reps now.

WORK RELATED LEARNING PLACEMENTS
As the school develops a broad range of inclusive activities, we need to add to the list of local employers that might provide a Work Related Learning Placement for students in Key Stage Four. If you are able to provide a placement or you know of a company that could, please contact Mr Burns at school. Thank you.

USE OF TOILETS
New arrangements for the use of toilets by Main School students during lesson time will be adopted for a trial period until half term. All toilets will be locked at 8.40am and will remain closed during lesson times. These will be unlocked at break, lunchtime and at the end of the school day. Students needing to use the toilet during lessons will go to the school office and will be allowed to use the medical room toilet.

"THREE SISTERS"
The Upper School production of Chekhov's "Three Sisters will be performed at CNS on 27, 28 February and Saturday 1 March in the School Hall. Tickets will be on sale in the Hall from 12.45 to 1pm daily, price £3.50.

YEAR 11 MOCKS
Mocks have proceeded smoothly and students have approached this rehearsal for final examinations in a serious manner. As coursework deadlines loom, it is important that all assessment tasks are completed carefully and that 'subject next steps' are addressed.
YEAR 11 NRA PRESENTATION
Year 11 students will shortly be receiving their National Records of Achievement. These portfolio documents are extremely useful for presenting the range of your achievements and, in particular, for demonstrating to prospective employers or colleges your personal and academic qualities.

BUILDING BEGINS
The long-awaited building at the end of the Design Technology block commences on Monday. This will provide two additional Food Technology Rooms and a connecting exhibition area. It will bring all aspects of Design & Technology into one facility and will ensure that standards of teaching and learning in this important Curriculum Area continue to rise.

CAR PARKING
Plans are being made for better car parking facilities at CNS. In general, we have insufficient space and we therefore need to rationalise arrangements. It is important that visitors, staff and those senior students who live at a distance from school can park safely and without crowding the front of school. Improved arrangements will be implemented later this term. From Monday, with the start of building work on the Design Technology block, overflow parking will be adjacent to the Sports Hall and not on the western edge of the field. Please follow signs and adhere to the 5mph speed limit that pertains on site. Thanks.

MATHS COMPETITION
Next Thursday, 6 February, 60 students in Years 10 and 11 will be participating in a national Mathematics contest. Good luck to all involved.

KS4 COURSES 2003-5
Preparations are well in hand for planning courses that will be available from September for students currently in Year 9. An Assembly for students on 11 February, and an Information Evening on the 13th for parents will take place when full details will be given.
