TRACE YOUR FAMILY HISTORY
Half-term workshop at CNS on 15th February from 10.00 -12.30 : Would you like to know more about your family history?

A half day workshop, taking place at CNS at half-term, could be just the start you need. Why not come in with your family (just let us know how many children you will bring and their ages). Maybe the children would like to come with their grand-parents. There will be an experienced team here to help you search the web, learn where records are kept and how to access them, and to give you hints on how to begin the fascinating journey back to your roots. For younger children there will be the opportunity to design a coat of arms and loads more fun activities. This event provides an opportunity for families to learn together and is part of CNS' commitment to Family Learning.

You can book places by calling Thea Abbott on 01603 274050.
TECHNOLOGY COURSEWORK & PROJECTS
Would Year 12 or Year 13 students collect their old coursework/projects from the Technology block by Friday 14 February, please?

DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD
Scheduled meetings for those involved in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme are on 6 and 14 February, map reading and grid references; 20 February and 7 March, compass bearings with treasure hunt. Meetings are held in Room 28 2.45 to 3.45pm.

NEW BUILDING
Building on the much-needed and long-awaited extension to the Design & Technology block started on Monday. All users of our site need to be aware that the caged area on the side of the field is supervised by the contractors and should not be entered by members of CNS or visitors. Enquiries about the project to Yvonne Kemp, our Bursar, please.

CAR PARKING
The new building means that overflow car parking is no longer possible on the side of the field. The netball court is available on a temporary basis. After half term, additional parking arrangements for staff, visitors and permitted Sixth Formers will be introduced. Parking immediately in front of the main building will no longer be possible.

CNSA JUMBLE SALE
Congratulations to Jane John and the CNSA Committee for raising £460 last Saturday in aid of school funds. This is a remarkable achievement given the terrible weather conditions on the day.

CNS IN SNOW
Although CNS remained open throughout the recent snowy weather, it is important that all families have contingency plans in the event of the school having to close. Very occasionally, it is necessary to send students home at short notice. A letter will always be sent with students to explain the circumstances.
