WORLD BOOK DAY
All students will be given a £1 book token to spend between 3 and 29 March. For every token spent in Jarrold's book department, they will give 50p back to the school if you say that you go to CNS.

ROAD SAFETY
Cyclists who illegally cycle on the pavement outside Colman Middle School need to be aware of the dangers they cause to young children, some of whom are blind and deaf. Signs clearly indicate that cycling is not allowed on the pavement outside Colman School. Fines of up to £500 could be imposed for breaching this very clear police instruction.
SIXTH FORM PARENTS' EVENINGS
These are due to take place on 6 and 13 March for Year 12 and Year 13 respectively. BCGs All Year 10s have been issued with consent forms, also those students in Year 11/12/13 who missed their immunisation last time. Heaf tests will be held on 12/13 March and BCGs the following 19/20 March. All forms must be returned to the school office as soon as possible.

YEAR 11 PROGRESS
This Friday, all students in Year 11 will receive a statement recording their 'Present Performance Grades'. These grades are based on the recent mock examinations and, with only eight weeks of lessons remaining, provide a clear indication of where further work needs to be done. A major issue for several students in Year 11 is that some elements of coursework have not yet been submitted. Lack of adequate coursework has the immediate effect of limiting the possibility of the best final grades. Teachers are always ready to help : it is not too late! The final parents' evening for Year 11 takes place on Thursday 20 March. Details will follow.

MRS SIMPSON
At the end of the week we say farewell to Mrs Simpson, who returned to CNS to assist in Modern Languages for the first part of this school year. We are extremely grateful to Mrs Simpson for the great encouragement that she has given to her students many of whom have gained much confidence as a result of her teaching.

CNSA QUIZ NIGHT
The next Quiz takes place on Saturday 8 March in the Hall.

SAD NEWS
It is with great sadness that we report that Mrs Frances Easter died suddenly during the half term break. Mrs Easter contributed generously to our school community, notably at School Association events and by assisting in the Main Office. She will be very much missed. We express our sympathy to her husband and to her children, Annabel and William, both of whom are students at CNS.
