ELECTION OF
GOVERNORS All students will take home today a letter regarding the
forthcoming Election of Parent Governors to fill two seats that will shortly
become vacant on our Governing Body. These vacancies have occurred because the
Governors concerned will come to the end of their term of office on 11 May. All
parents or guardians of children attending the school are entitled to stand for
election, propose or second candidates and vote. Governors play an important
part in the work of CNS and the experience can be very rewarding and enjoyable.
Nomination papers can be collected from the school office and completed forms
must be returned to the school by Thursday 10 April. If more than two
nominations are received a postal ballot will be necessary.
DUKE OF
EDINBURGH AWARD
Many involved in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme
participated in an orienteering exercise recently. The next scheduled meetings
are: 4 April - Trangia Challenge, food and nutrition; 11 April and 17 April -
Route planning. Meetings are held in Room 28 from 2.45 to 3.45pm.
YEAR 9 REPORTS
All Year 9 students will be given their reports to take
home today. A reply slip will be included. Please complete this and return to
the Form Tutor. Included with the report will be the Key Stage Four Choices
form. It is important that this is completed and returned to Tutors by
Wednesday 9 April. The range of pathways available to students is more
extensive than in previous years. Please do contact your son or daughter's
Tutor, Ms Webb or Mrs Smith if you would like to discuss possibilities in
further detail.
YEAR 9 PARENTS' EVENING
This takes place next Thursday 3 April from 5.30 to 7.30.
Students need to make appointments for their parents/carers, as appropriate.

SPORTING ROUNDUP
Our Year 9 Football Team beat the undefeated Taverham side
in their league match 5:0. The Year 8 Boys Basketball won 46:10 in their match
against Thorpe St Andrew. Well done to both teams!
GERMAN EXCHANGE
DEPARTS
Twenty CNS students together with Mr Kreft and Ms
Wind-Avery left school early on Wednesday morning bound for Koblenz. Students
will be with their German partners until 4 April. Gute reise!
SCHOOL
UNIFORM
Please remember that this school year is the last during
which the OLD school uniform may be worn. By September, all students need to
wear the school fleece and polo shirt combination. The blazer and shirt or
pullover and blouse will no longer be permissible. John Lewis plc stocks CNS
uniform and PE kit. Members of staff there will be happy to help you. At the
CNSA Fete on 21 June, John Lewis will have a stall at school in order that
purchases can be made on site.
USE OF THE GROUNDS
It is good to see such extensive use of the field and other
outside areas as the Spring weather arrives. Please bear in mind that we all
have a responsibility to maintain our school as an attractive and welcoming
place. The Site Team and many students work hard to keep up standards and it is
dispiriting when we have to pick up other people's rubbish. The bins provided
across the site may be objects of great beauty but their main purpose is for us
all to put our litter into. Please use them! And thank you to the vast majority
of students who are helping to create a pleasant environment at the front of
school by no longer walking on the lawn.
