HALF TERM
The half term break begins after school today, Friday, 12th February. School resumes at 8.45 am on Monday 22nd February.

CHARITIES WEEK
Thanks to all students and staff who have put so much effort into making Charities Week a great success. The week ends today with 'Stars in Their Eyes' in the Sports Hall at lunchtime, sponsored walks and runs round the field in period 6 and with the Sixth Form 'Dormus' group involved in an overnight vigil. There will be a second performance by 'Stella Artois' at 1.00 pm in the Drama Studio on Monday 22nd February for those who were unable to get in on Monday of this week.

Thanks to Mervyn Freeman of ECN for bringing the Speed Kick machine into school on Wednesday and to Bhargav, Jordan, Graham and Finn for making the arrangements. Winners in the various categories were Simon Jervis, Nicola Guffogg, David Tyrie, Sapphire Nicholls, Tom Burkett, Adam Wretham, Bhargav Trivedi, Jonathan Gordon and Robert Preston. Mr Pine made a valiant effort in his socks which was recorded at 55mph. Joseph Mantripp of Year 11 took over from Dr Elkins as Head for the Day on Wednesday, having raised sponsorship of well over £100 for the privilege: no students were excluded permanently! 'Man O Man' was presented with panache and flair and performed to a huge audience. Thanks to Peter, Jaime and the Sixth Form team who organised the show.

All sorts of sales (thanks, parents, for all your efforts in making cakes and buns), competitions and smaller scale efforts have been taking place. Thanks to everyone: remember that £1 educates a child in the Congo for one year!
SCHOOL ASSOCIATION
The Association's Annual Jumble Sale will take place on Saturday 6th March at Eaton Parish Hall on Colman Road. Jumble can be brought to the school office at any time, so if you are thinking of a half term Spring Clean, please let us have your unwanted items. There is a Quiz Night on Saturday 13th March at 7.30 pm: full details are printed on the back of this Echo.

JOIN THE DIG!
The Norfolk Archaeological Unit is presently carrying out a dig at Bethel Street car park and has uncovered new areas of Norfolk's past. Information on the digs and other aspects of the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Project can now be accessed by all students via the History Shared Area on the school's computer network. Students must go first to 'History', then to 'Read History', then to 'Archaeological Dig'. The web address for parents is www.esinet.norfolk.gov.uk There are two open days on the site of the dig, on 13th March and 24th April.

DRAMA
Tickets for the senior production of 'Our Country's Good' by Timberlake Wertenbaker will take place in the Drama Studio the week after half term on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 25th, 26th and 27th February at 7.30 pm. This is a powerful drama, seen by some critics as a modern classic and will be acted by students taking A level Theatre Studies. Tickets cost £3.50 and will be on sale at lunchtimes throughout the week.
