CHARITIES WEEK: £3000 ALREADY!
£3000 of income from Charities Week has already been counted in by the Finance Office: on the basis of the speed of receipt in previous years, it looks as though we may beat our target of £4000 and may well exceed our best previous effort. Thanks to everybody for their contributions: either in cash or in organising sales, competitions, events or sponsored ventures. Congratulations to Richard Morgan of 13Su who won the Library's 'Tricky Teaser' quiz. The Echo will be pleased to publish the names of all competition winners. Keep collecting: is it impossible to think that we might even have raised £5000 this year?

ISSUES
Norwich Peace Council has recently been re-established and Adrian Ramsay of Year 13 is its Green Party representative. Adrian is keen to represent the views of any student who has views on how Norwich might respond to international peace issues and how peace education can be addressed in schools. Adrian has also been in contact with the bus company to seek improvement in the services which students use to and from school: his efforts were featured in a recent 'Evening News'. If you have views on either issue which you would like him to express on your behalf, his form base is Room 22- or you can e.mail him on a.ramsay@cns.norfolk.sch.uk

ANTI RACISM GROUP
Next Tuesday, at 1.00 pm in Room 43, the Anti Racism Group will meet to discuss the issues which arise out of the enquiry into the police's response to the murder of Stephen Lawrence- all students are invited to attend.
SCHOOL ASSOCIATION
The Association's Annual Jumble Sale will take place on Saturday week, 6th March, at Eaton Parish Hall on Colman Road. Jumble can be brought to the school office at any time, or delivered to the Parish Hall on the Saturday morning. And don't forget the Quiz Night on Saturday 13th March at 7.30 pm: full details were printed on the back of the last edition of the Echo.

'OUR COUNTRY'S GOOD'
The first night of the Sixth Form Theatre Studies group's production of 'Our Country's Good' was performed in front of an enthusiastic audience yesterday evening. The play, by Timberlake Wertenbaker, is based upon historical records which showed that convicts in Australia performed Farquhar's 'The Recruiting Officer' in the early days of settlement in what was then a penal colony. The idea of a play within a play and the challenge to ideas of role and identity are explored in ways which are both entertaining and thought-provoking. The quality of acting was quite outstanding and it would be wrong to pick out individuals for particular praise: this is a true ensemble production which reflects great credit on all who are involved - and on Mrs Wickham's skills as a director. The play runs tonight and tomorrow at 7.30 pm: don't miss it!

AMNESTY GROUP
Next Thursday lunchtime, the CNS Amnesty Group invites you to put your thumb print on a giant postcard which will be sent to PM Tony Blair to ask the British government to seek to stop children being used as soldiers in some parts of the world.
