PARENT GOVERNOR ELECTION
Ballot papers for the election, together with information about the candidates and on the procedures for voting, were issued to students for parents last Tuesday afternoon, 20th April. Where there is more than one child in the school, the papers have been given to the youngest child. If a student has been away this week, the school office will aim to send ballot papers by post to arrive at parents' homes no later than Monday morning, 26th April. The election closes at 3.45 pm next Tuesday, 27th April. The votes will then be counted and the result posted in the Hall.

YEAR 9
We are very pleased that so many parents attended both the meeting at which next year's courses were presented and yesterday evening's parent-teacher consultation meeting. The 'option choices' form must be returned to Form Tutors by afternoon registration next Monday, 26th April. Key Stage 3 tests in English, Mathematics and Science take place from Tuesday 4th May until Monday 10th May. All students in Year 9 will be taking these tests and detailed information will be given out next week.

HOME-SCHOOL AGREEMENT
A working group of students, parents, teachers and governors has been formed to draft a home-school agreement which will be in place at CNS (as in all other maintained schools) as from September. The first meeting of the group will take place on Thursday 29th April. The draft agreement will be discussed at the annual meeting of governors with parents on Thursday, 27th May.
50/50 AUCTION
The auction takes place tomorrow, Saturday 24th April, in the School Hall at 11.00 am: there is a reminder on the back of this copy of the Echo. Over 200 items have been received, so there should be potential bargains for everybody. Viewing starts at 9.30 am.

SCHOOL ASSOCIATION
The Association is running a stall on Haymarket on Saturday 1st May and would welcome any contributions of books, records, CDs, bric-a-brac, new clothes (not jumble) and cakes. Items can be handed in to the school office at any time, except for cakes, which can be brought to school on Friday 30th April.

DRAMA
Mrs Wickham's Year 11 GCSE Drama students will be performing their examination pieces this evening, Friday 23rd April, at 7.00 pm in the Drama area. Admission is free, but the audience is invited to contribute voluntarily to the Kosovo appeal.

WORLD BOOK DAY
Today, Friday 23rd April, is World Book Day and all students will receive a £1 book voucher which is valid in bookshops until 3rd May. A handsome prize will be given to the CNS student who designs the best bookmark: please hand in your entries at the library before Friday 7th May.

CAKE SALE
Next Friday, 30th April, cakes will be on sale at break and lunchtime in the main hall to raise funds for the Harford Belles girls' football team (which includes CNS students) to travel to Denmark for the Dara Cup.
