HIGHER EDUCATION FUNDING
The meeting arranged by Cambron Financial Strategies for parents interested in hearing about ways of planning to meet the costs of higher education will take place next Tuesday, 28th September, at 7.30 pm in the Sixth Form Common Room. Parents of students in Years 8-11 received an invitation letter earlier in the term.

MATHS QUIZ
Congratulations to a team of CNS mathematicians from Year 13 who came third in a national mathematics quiz last week. Matthew Burrell, Sarah Cattermole, Pip Earl, Claire Grace, Andrew Hall and John Hudson were beaten by only two points in the national PopMaths Quiz in Sheffield.

This was part of the annual meeting of the British Association for the Advancement of Science. The photos of the event can be found on the web at www.shu.ac.uk/maths/popmaths

YEAR 10
Year 10 students will have the opportunity of entering the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme this year: a letter was issued to students for parents at yesterday afternoon's registration. The Award Scheme at CNS will be managed by Dr Knott, Mr Martin and Mrs Taylor. If you are interested, please let one of these teachers know by 7th October.

MOBILE PHONES
Mobile phones should not be used by any student in school. If any are discovered they will be confiscated and held by the Year Head who will arrange for parents to collect them. Lessons have been interrupted by phone calls and this is entirely unacceptable.
SCHOOL ASSOCIATION
The Association's AGM takes place next Wednesday 29th September at 7.30 pm in the Hall. Please come along to find out what the Association has achieved this year. It is your chance to get involved, either on a regular basis as part of an enthusiastic, friendly team or as an occasional helper or supporter at events. The Association looks forward to meeting you.

Tickest for the Ceilidh with the Happisburgh Light Brigade are available from the school office or from Theresa Easter on 01603 401046. This is a social evening for all the family and an excellent opportunity for parents and students who are new to the school to meet and get to know others in the school community in a relaxed atmosphere. Further details are on the back of this copy of the Echo.

YEAR 12
The ceremony for the award of prizes and commendations to students of last year's CNS Year 11 will take place at 7.30 pm on Thursday 7th October. Award winners have been notified and are asked to ensure that the return slips are handed in to confirm attendance.

EDP GIVEAWAY
A collection box will be on the stage in the Hall for tokens in the Eastern Daily Press which may qualify the school for a prize. The top prize is £6000 worth of electrical equipment so please cut the tokens out if you read the EDP and put them in the box.

BUSES
Timetables for a new bus service provided by Neaves to Newmarket Road from through Plumstead and Heartsease (NE5) and from Sprowston (NE12) are posted in the Hall.
