YEAR 12
The awards ceremony for the presentation of prizes and commendations to students of last year's CNS Year 11, will take place next Thursday, 7th October, at 7.30 pm in the School Hall. Award winners have been notified and have been made aware of the arrangements for the evening. Parents and other members of families are very welcome to attend. Results at GCSE this year were excellent, so many students have much to celebrate.

GERMAN EXCHANGE
The party of seventeen CNS students, led by Mr Fletcher, Miss Johnson and Miss Wind, returned at the weekend from ten days in Koblenz, Germany, as guests of our partnered school, Gymnasium auf dem Asterstein. Students shared lessons with their German partners and enjoyed a full programme of trips and visits. Highlights were a boat trip up the River Rhine and visits to Koln, Mainz and the theme park Phantasialand, near Bonn. There were no difficulties or accidents at all during the ten days in Germany and our students were complimented on their mature and responsible behaviour.

HOME-SCHOOL AGREEMENT
Parents are reminded that the return slip for the home-school agreement should have been returned to Form Tutors by today, Friday 1st October. If we have not yet received your return, please make sure that it is in school by Tuesday of next week, 5th October, at the latest. If parents have concerns about any element of the agreement, please let us know in writing and we shall aim to resolve the problem.

CHARITIES WEEK
Charities Week in February will be supporting the Chernobyl Children Life Line Charity, a group set up to help children from Belarus who are suffering from the after-effects of the nuclear disaster at Chernobyl. The charity seeks to provide opportunities for children to come to the UK for rest and recuperation. We hope to raise enough money to pay for their fares and to arrange for ten children to stay with CNS host families in the summer term. Further details will be issued shortly in a letter for Year 8 and 9 families.

PHOTO RETURNS
These must be in by Monday morning at the latest: the firm is coming in then to collect orders.
