HOLIDAY
The half-term holiday for students starts after school today, Thursday 21st October: tomorrow, Friday 22nd October, is a staff training day. School resumes at 8.45 am on Monday 1st November.

YEAR 11
On Thursday 4th November at 7.30 pm there will be a presentation of Sixth Form courses to Year 11 students and their parents. The government will be introducing major changes to post-16 courses in England and Wales from September 2000, so this will be an important opportunity to find out what is in prospect, whether you are committed to staying on at CNS or not. After the presentation in the school hall, students and parents will be free to tour the school to find out more about the subjects in which they are interested. The Sixth Form has always enjoyed a very high staying-on rate with CNS students, but it is becoming increasingly popular with students from other schools. We look forward to seeing you on 4th November.

LISTENERS
The Sixth Form Listeners are always on hand to respond to any student who would like to share a problem or a concern, whether the problem is personal or has to do with something that has happened at school. All contacts are confidential. You can reach the Listeners by e.mail on Listeners@cns.norfolk.sch.uk or by using the drop-in room (Room 31, Art Department) at 1.00 pm any Monday or Friday.
SCHOOL ASSOCIATION
Thanks to everybody who came to last Saturday night's School Association Ceilidh. The evening was a great success, attracting the biggest crowd yet to an event of this sort at the school and making a profit of £328.61. The next Association occasion for your diary is the Quiz Night on Saturday 4th December.

SCHOOL COUNCIL
The first School Council meeting of the year will take place on Wednesday 10th November during period 5: the room will be announced after half term. Mr Dickson will be the Council's facilitator this year and will liaise with year group councils to produce the first agenda.

CYCLO CROSS
All keen cyclists are invited to take part in the Whitwell Hall Cyclo Cross League, which takes place on Saturday afternoons from 6th November at Whitwell Station, near Reepham. The cost for a day's fun and competition is £1.50 . Interested? Ms Bushell has further details and entry forms: see her in the Biology Department.

COMPUTER PRINTING
Students have been allocated sufficient printer credits to cover their classroom work. Additional credits for personal use can be bought from the finance office at the school at a price of £1 for 40 printer credits.

FUN RUN
The first Echo after half-term will cover all the news about yesterday's Fun Run.
