YEAR 8 INTAKE MEETINGS
Yesterday evening, Year 7 students from middle schools and their parents attended the first of two meetings at which CNS is open to visitors. The second meeting is next Tuesday, 23rd November, at 7.30 pm. Thanks to all students who are helping at the meetings. We hope that our visitors find the meetings to be enjoyable and interesting.

WORLDWISE QUIZ WINNERS
Congratulations to the CNS team of Tom McKeown (Y11), Graham Gilbert (Y10) and Owen Reading (Y9), winners of the Norfolk round of the Geographical Association's nationwide quiz. Runners-up were Archbishop Sancroft School, Harleston, followed by Wymondham College and Norwich School. The team goes on to represent Norfolk in the regional round and hopes to compete in the national final in Birmingham at Easter.

BELARUS VISITORS
Thanks to the twelve CNS families who have agreed to host the visit to Norwich of ten children from the Chernobyl area of Belarus next summer. During Charities Week next February, the school will be raising money for the children's month-long stay: the target is £4,500. This will enable the charity 'Lifeline' to arrange for flights and transport to the UK.

'Lifeline' was set up to help those who suffered from the disaster at the nuclear power station in Chernobyl. A month's stay in another country boosts the childrens' immune systems and improves the quality- and duration- of their lives back home. Mr Banfield will be happy to provide any further information on the charity.
ASSOCIATION QUIZ
Details of the School Association's Quiz Evening on Saturday 4th December are to be found on the back of this copy of 'The Echo'.

GIRLS' SPORT
The U.19 Girls' Netball team began their season with convincing wins over Notre Dame and Sprowston High schools and competed in the Norfolk U19 tournament yesterday. The girls' football season also gets underway this week and the U16 and U14 teams have cup-ties to play within the next fortnight. Prospects are good, with five CNS girls enrolled in the Norfolk School of Excellence for football.

TATE GALLERY VISIT
A party of fifty-eight Year 11 and Year 12 Art students enjoyed a visit to London on Monday to visit the Tate gallery and to sketch and take photographs in the Covent Garden area. The visit was successful and the attitude and behaviour of the students has encouraged the new team of Art teachers to offer further opportunities of this sort.

REMEMBRANCE ASSEMBLIES
Last week, all year groups attended assemblies to recognise the sacrifice of all those who gave their lives in wars. The assemblies were moving and dignified and incorporated a two-minute silence.

MENINGITIS VACCINE
Letters and consent forms for Meningitis C vaccination were issued to students in Years 11, 12 and 13 last Tuesday: please ensure that the consent forms are returned quickly. The vaccination programme will be extended to younger students next year.
