END OF TERM
Term ends at 2.20 pm next Friday, 17th December. There will be normal lessons throughout the morning and a half-hour period with Form Tutors from 1.50 pm until 2.20 pm. We come back in the new millennium to the beginning of the Spring Term on 4th January 2000.

YEAR 11
The academic review day for Year 11 is next Wednesday, 15th December. Students and parents should have received the times of their appointments from their academic tutors. This is an important opportunity to review progress before the final phase of revision for the summer GCSE exams and we look forward to a busy day.

'TOAD OF TOAD HALL'
Our theatre critic, Mrs Seddon, writes: Billed as a riotous comedy, the Lower School production certainly lived up to expectations, conjuring up the world of the riverbank and the wild wood. The four central characters were skilfully portrayed and cleverly contrasted. Robbie Garbutt, as Toad, was suitably flamboyant, Barry Grimes' Badger was stern but wise and Owen Dennis' philosophical Ratty and Inemiset Essien's impressionable Mole completed a delightful quartet.

They were ably supported by a cast of humans and animals in some wonderful ensemble scenes. Everyone deserves praise, but cameos by Alex Shillito, Lily Rumsey, Ben Acaster and Rosey Lee, together with the unforgettable horse, Alfred, played by Jack Trutch, Rhys Evans and Joe Dix, deserve special mention. Congratulations to Lisa Baylay and her team on another sell-out success.
QUIZ PROCEEDS
Last Saturday's Quiz Evening raised a magnificent £507 for School Association funds. Thanks to all who came, but especially to Mrs Brenda Clarke and her team who, again, gave their services free to support the school. .

CONCERT
The Christmas Concert takes place next Thursday, 16th December, at 7.30 pm in the School Hall. As always at Christmas, there is a varied and highly enjoyable programme of items, ranging from audience carols to salsa and jazz items. Choirs and orchestras will be in festive mood, so please make sure you don't miss the last CNS concert of the millennium. Admission is by programme, available in advance from the school office or the Music Department, or at the door on the night.
